Make HTTP requests and test APIs
Native and lightweight
Cartero is not a web application. It is native and leverages the graphical toolkit of your computer in order to be lightweight and fast.
Private by design
Does not require a cloud subscription. You are not required to create an account to use it. There is no AI integration in Cartero.
Knows how to do teamwork
Use plain text files to persist your requests. Track changes to your requests with Git or any other version control system and share them with your team.
Fully free software
Cartero is published under a GPL license. You are free to download the program, to access the code, to learn from it and to change it.
Using the program is the most direct way to help the project. Talk to your colleagues or share your thoughts to let people know about it. We are on a mission to make sending HTTP requests over the network something affordable, as it used to be, and not a dreadful experience or a luxury.
However, if Cartero is helping you and you want to help the project back, here's how.
Report bugs to the issue tracker. It's the only way to make them go away and to stop disrupting everyone.
Cartero is written in Rust and uses the GTK toolkit, and we try to be as friendly with beginners as we can.
If the application is not available in your language or is partially translated, you can translate the strings.
I am not writing this program for money, but funding the project will help me spend more time on it.
